In 1892, William Edwin Barnard
founded W.E. Barnard and Son. In 1907 Harrison B. Barnard,
William's son, assumed leadership and changed the firm's name
to H.B. Barnard. Thirty years later, in 1937, H.B. Barnard
was incorporated as the H.B. Barnard Company and, as such,
continues to this day.
William B. Barnard, grandson of the founder, became president
in 1952. In 1974 James B. Barnard, the fourth generation,
joined the firm and has been the firm's president since 1996.
